Too many options from travel agents to online websites and airlines leave you confused. Pack well in advance

Pack right, and light. After you figure out what all you may need at your destination (weather-wise), check your ticket for the maximum allowance and stay within it. Do check the airline website for articles not allowed on a flight. There is a list of things that can be packed in your check-in baggage but not in your hand baggage — make sure to follow that list.

udChalo Tip: Don’t forget to check how much weight your airline allows you to carry without charging extra.

Do Web Check-in

Most of the airlines issues e-tickets and allows web check-in for their flights that can be shown on your smartphone. Web check-in allows you to save an ample amount of time as you can skip the check-in queues and go straight to security. Please note that not all airlines will allow you to check-in online. And, if you need special assistance, you’ll have to check-in at the airport.

udChalo Tip: If you’ve bought your flight tickets with udChalo, we give you a direct link to the airline’s check-in page, which can be found on your e-ticket.

AT THE AIRPORT

Arrive Early

Give yourself some extra time -this is especially important if you have to check-in at the airport or drop checked baggage. Reach the airport 1 hour in advance for a domestic flight and 3 hours earlier in case of an international flight. Arriving at the airport early will give you some extra time to check your luggage and go through security without having to rush. And, in case anything does not go according to plan, you’ll still have time to fix it without missing your flight.

udChalo Tip: Before you get to the airport, make sure you have all the necessary documents& IDs for your domestic flight handy.

Check in & Baggage Drop-Off

Once you have arrived at the airport, if you haven’t checked in online before arrival, check-in at a kiosk or in person at a check-in desk. After checking in by kiosk, drop off bags at the appropriate counter. If you have checked-in online, drop off your baggage and head to the security line.

udChalo Tip: Keep your ID and boarding pass ready for the security checks.

Security Check & Boarding Gate

At the security check, the officer will scan your boarding pass and then you will be required to pass your hand luggage through an x-ray machine where it will be checked for prohibited goods. You will also be required to pass through a metal detector.

udChalo Tip: Once you are on the other side of the scan don’t forget to gather all your belongings and head off to find your gate.

You can identify boarding gates by a letter and a number — e.g. A10. Boarding for your flight will close 15 min before the flight departs. The airports have clear signage indicating where the gates are, but if you feel overwhelmed or get lost, make sure to ask someone for directions.

udChalo Tip: Please note that while is seldom happens, boarding gates can be changed, so it is very important that you keep an eye on the informational boards.

INSIDE THE FLIGHT

Do not panic! Security procedures are for reassurance

Before the flight takes off, the cabin crew will take you through inflight safety procedures that you need to know. This includes some of the cabin rules, how to fasten your seatbelt as well as some information on what to do in case of an emergency. But do not panic! This is a standard procedure that every airline undertakes for every flight and is put in place to reassure you.

AFTER LANDING

Wait for the signal of belt sign turning off

At the time of landing, you can feel the plane going down. As the wheel touch the runway, then increase the noise as the aircraft goes slow. The plane will take you to the terminal. Do not stand-up even the plane stops, you have to wait for the signal of the belt sign to turn off. You might need a shuttle to go to the terminal from the flight. Then you can reclaim your baggage. After it, you can follow the exit way. Happy Landing!
