The ‘Real Hero’ in the COVID-19 crisis

We are in the greatest crisis of our lifetime which seems to be directly affecting every person, even those who don’t recognize it yet. This seems to be worse than 9/11 and the 2008–09 financial meltdown that triggered the Great Recession.

It is during this time of crisis that we see selfless heroes across various professions step up and help the world work its way through these difficult times.

In a crisis like this, there is no place for leaders to be bragging or over promising the capabilities of their company or using this crisis for competitive wins or publicity for themselves or their companies. Not all heroes wear capes, some wear masks and stethoscopes while many others hold themselves up to face the battle with great endurance. If ever there was a time for leaders to be authentic, this is it!

Our brave heroes are stepping up unselfishly taking action to stop the spread of the virus and minimize its health and economic impact while some are using the best scientific and technical innovation and talent to address the complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the recent past , we have noticed tributes pouring in for all front-line workers who are helping to keep society going amid the crisis, including airline staff, medical professionals, grocery store staff, delivery drivers and our very own Armed Force Personnel, among others.

Let us all step up and be humble, open, and realistic about the health care and logistical challenges being faced worldwide. To reduce the burden on all those on the front-line, all we require to do for ourselves and our loved ones is simple…wash your hands regularly, avoid social contact and stay safe in isolation for a required period to avoid the spread of this deadly pandemic.

By your simple contribution, you can also join in and become a ‘Real Hero’.
